About Us

The Hotel

Husband and wife team Paul and Sue Tritschler took over the hotel in 2007 and set about updating and refurbishing the rooms and bathrooms. The hotel is in the quiet neighbourhood of Ardbeg on the isle of Bute and is an ideal base for your trip.

Most of our rooms are en suite; we have en suite double, twin and family rooms. We also have a small number of single rooms with shared facilities and two further family rooms which share a large family bathroom.

Striven View Steak House

Bute has some fantastic local produce and we source all our, lamb and beef locally.

Our A La Carte Menu is also available at an extra charge and can be served in either the Restaurant or the Lounge Bar. Try one of our succulent, grass fed Isle of Bute beef steaks cooked to your liking with a choice of side dishes. The 16oz T-Bone is a regular favourite.

What our Guest Say About Us

“The rooms were very clean and tidy. Paul and Sue were the best hosts. The food was second to none and they all went that extra mile to help us.”

“Ardbeg Lodge, over looking the Loch Striven served a “High Tea” which was a fabulous 3 course meal, the food served to a very high standard and taste, I had a starter of Haggis in Whiskey sauce and main of Scampie and veg whilst my wife had a main of home made Steak pie, the portion virtually filled her plate and left little room for her veg. This was followed by a mouthwatering dessert of Chocolate cake, under £30 for the two including drinks. ”
